Plan a Perfect Saturday on Isle of Palms

Posted: January 23, 2023

Saturdays on Isle of Palms are different. Whether you are visiting in the summer months or looking for a quick winter getaway, Isle of Palms will be brimming with weekend visitors and beachgoers all year round. Most folks visiting the low country like to have no plan and go wherever the seabreeze takes them. But when you only have limited time here, we suggest you stick to an itinerary to make the most of your short vacation.

Below is our guide to the perfect Saturday on Isle of Palms…

Reserve your beach chairs early

Instead of lugging your beach chairs and umbrellas around with you all day on Isle of Palms, rent them instead. Two companies will set up your rentals at the station of your choice and break them down again at the end of the day.

Beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented as late as the same day for your desired day(s) on Isle of Palms. For Saturday reservations, however, we suggest you rent your beach chairs at least the night before due to popularity.

Contact two local businesses, IOP Beach Chair Company or Chunky’s Chairs and Umbrellas to make your reservations. They will have your beach chairs and umbrellas set up at a station of your choice before you arrive.

Pick up snacks, drinks, and sandwiches at the Isle of Palms Marina

Now that your beach chairs are taken care of and you have more hands for snacks, it’s time to head over to the Isle of Palms Marina Market. The Marina is conveniently located just off Palm Blvd on 41st Street.

The shelves at the market are fully stocked with everything you will need for your Saturday on Isle of Palms. Get snacks, cold drinks, and freshly-made sandwiches to enjoy on the beach.

Always remember to check local beach rules. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on Isle of Palms, as are styrofoam coolers and single-use plastic of any kind.

Grab dinner with locals at The Dinghy Taproom and Kitchen

There are dozens of wonderful restaurants on Isle of Palms. Sometimes, especially after a long day on the beach, you want to eat somewhere lively and casual. We recommend The Dinghy Taproom and Kitchen.

The Dinghy is a relaxed local spot with a great beer selection and delicious food. They are also known for live music, delicious sandwiches, and their famous conch fritters.

Seating is first-come first-serve.

End your perfect Saturday on Isle of Palms Jammin’ at the Windjammer

The Windjammer is one of the most popular music venues in all of the greater Charleston area. Located at front beach on Isle of Palms, there is always a cool breeze blowing on the lively porch and great acts slinging tunes inside. You can also visit early on Saturday for oyster and beer specials. They also have beach volleyball courts available between the Windjammer and the dunes.
