It is easy to dream of palm trees, warm breezes, and sunshine during these dog days of winter. That is why now is the perfect time to plan your Spring Break on Isle of Palms. Spring in Charleston might be the absolute best season to visit because it is not too hot, the water is crystal clear, and visitors can watch as life returns to the marsh once again.
Isle of Palms is ready and waiting to host your family and friends for Spring Break 2024. This guide will help you plan the perfect vacation to help shake off the winter and get ready for beach season.
Festivals mark the beginning of spring
The start of the “tourist” season in the Charleston area is marked by the Southeastern Wildlife Expo happening February 16th-18th. That is a little early for Spring Break on Isle of Palms, so you should plan on attending Front Beach Fest instead.
Front Beach Fest will kick off the spring season with live music, crafts, activities for kids, and local food vendors on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 from 12:00 PM-4:00 PM on Front Beach. This popular Isle of Palms festival is family-friendly and is a great event to start your Spring Break off the right way.
Charleston Food and Wine Festival is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6th-Sunday, March 10th and will feature culinary experts, celebrity chefs, and lots of amazing food from around the world. Travel to the festival from Isle of Palms is easy, so plan on making a day trip during Spring Break to Riverfront Park in North Charleston for this event.
Golf carts and golf courses will make Spring Break on Isle of Palms special
Golf carts and LSVs (low speed vehicles) are street legal in Isle of Palms and are one of the fastest and most convenient ways to travel around the island. If your family or group includes a licensed driver of at least 25 years of age or older, then you can rent a LSV (golf cart) for the entirety of your Spring Break 2024. Here are a few things to consider:
- Golf carts are not permitted to be driven at night; LSV with lights are legal at night
- Rental companies will only rent golf carts or LSVs to single family rentals; no multifamily or hotel rentals
- Golf carts and LSVs are only permitted on secondary streets; you may not drive them on the Ben Sawyer Bridge or the Isle of Palms Connector
Playing golf is another great way to enjoy the mild temperatures of spring in Isle of Palms. Wild Dunes provides two stunning championship golf courses to choose from. Spring Breakers can easily book a tee time and experience the Links Course or the Harbor Course for themselves.
